Let me begin by saying that I hate airports.
Let me continue by saying I hate Orbitz.

This morning I woke up at 6:30am to catch my 9:00am flight. Only when I got there around 8am I learned my flight had been changed to 8:15am and the doors had closed. Of course there were no more free flights to Denver connecting to SF to Hawaii.

My options were to 1) come back the next day and join my family a day late or 2) stand-by for flights to Denver and then to SF.

Being risky, I decided to take my chances, which I why I'm still in the Kansas City airport. If all goes well I can catch my afternoon flight from SF to Hawaii. But more likely I'll be spending a night in SFO or Denver. Wish me luck!

Good news!

I just got a stand-by ticket to Denver! Hopefully, I'll get lucky with another stand-by flight to SF.

Keep your fingers crossed folks.

Terrible news. So I arrived in Denver, but I've been waiting here for 4 hours. There are literally hundreds of angry passengers trying to get to the West coast, which is unfortunately where I'm headed as well. Thus, I've missed my stand-by flight to SF and my connection to Hawaii. It looked as though I was spending the night in the Denver airport but the nice flight attendant woman pulled some strings so I'll be flying into Santa Anna tonight and I'll be leaving for Hawaii from LA in the morning.

Sigh. It's been a long and frustrating day. Thank God for free airport WiFi.

Only have to wait 4 more hours before I can head to Cali.

Today is the longest day of my life, both metaphorically and literally. I'm slowly making my way West and the time is getting earlier and earlier.

This is one of those days that I wish there were less hours in the day. I just want it to end.

it is now safe to move around the world.

So this summer I'll had a couple of opportunities to travel. A couple times to Boston, once to Tampa Bay, and today I'm flying out to Vegas. That's right "SIN CITY." Unfortunately, I'm too young to take part in most of the sinning that occurs there (I'm talking about the casinos people, get your minds out of the gutter).

Anyways, traveling alot has exposed me to a lot of different flights and hotels. So this summer I have discovered the joy that is JetBlue. For those of you still not in the know, JetBlue is a fairly new airline which has a TV screen and several channels for EVERY seat. It's ok to be amazed, I was at first too. But this new development has changed my flight experience completely. One flight I didn't want to get off the plane because an episode of ABDC was just ending and I wanted to find out who was being voted off.

In addition to developing preferences for particular airlines (I also strongly endorse Midwest, btw) I am beginning to get used to paying the small amount for extra room, showing up at the airport only 20 mins before my flight, and not checking any bags. I guess I truly am becoming a consultant.

Anyways, I take off in about 3 hours. Hopefully I don't get stuck next to a snorer.
