I hate mosquitoes. If there is one thing I hate in this world, it is mosquitoes. I can live with spiders and flies, alligators and sharks, bears and tigers, but I hate mosquitoes.
During the 13 days that I've been in Korea I've been bitten 31 times. No joke, they love me. Even when everyone else doesn't seem to be bothered by them, I some how end up with a ton of bites. The problem is there's no stopping them.
Which begs the question, why on earth did God create mosquitoes?
After seriously pondering this question for a couple days I had an insight: to teach us discipline.
There few things in life more challenging than resisting the itch of a mosquito bite.

in the span of 14 days in Peru, I probably got 100+ mosquito bites ;) we DEFINITELY couldn't scratch them because they would scar and stay with us forever. Tankfully I only have a few scars left on my leg and none on my arms..
oh, and in the span of the 4 weeks, definitely got 200+ bites. lucky jonathan only got 3...
i heard if you flex while its biting you, it'll explode. you need to flex more.
psh. you have to cut off your blood flow and THEN flex. if you just flex, they just die with their suckers stuck in your skin. and you're left with a bug bite the size of your kneecap. bad experience.
