break out and dance.

Gosh, sometimes I just randomly feel like breaking out in dance.

These are the things that happen in my dreams. I wish this happened in real life... that'd be so sick.

lent season.

begins tomorrow...

Some people get hooked on cigarettes, others on sweets, I get hooked on news. I probably check news sites about 10+ times a day. I think I'll probably be giving that up for lent.

Quick word: I always think it's funny when we "sacrifice" things only to fill that void with something else just as bad. The purpose of lent is to give up something so we can be reminded of his sacrifice and spend more time reflecting on Christ.

Point being, don't give up chatting, but fill that time instead wasting away in front of the tube.

the power of words.

I've always believed that words are powerful. I'm reminded of this everyday by the words of great thinkers in my textbooks, the words of our President Barack Obama, and the words of friends/peers like Ben Alisuag.

In case you don't know Ben, he's a sick spoken-word artist, a student at Penn and a great representative of the AA community. Check out this clip, (begin from 3:00 if you're impatient). He's the one on the left.

Come from behind victory?!

So a couple weeks ago I wrote a post about my friend's website Daily Gorilla. I told you to go visit often, but also to vote for my Haiku. That week many of you came out in huge numbers and I had a landslide victory to become Haiku King.

Since then, I've retained the title for the last few weeks, but it looks as though I may be dethroned this week by a good friend of mine from high school. All of the sudden, she's smoking me 31-17. Let's try to win yet another week with an incredible come from behind victory... PLEASE VOTE HERE.

Red Paper Clip Experience, pt. 1

I'm currently taking a course advanced negotiations and we have an assignment called the "Red Paper Clip" experiment. The point is that I begin with a red paper clip and I have one week to barter/trade to get something more and more valuable each time.

So please join me in this experience. Question is... what would you be willing to give me for ONE red paper clip? Let me know soon, I've got to start bartering.

I'll keep you updated.

Edit: 1:49 am - said paper clip has been traded for a black fender guitar pick by Mark.

Edit: 2:01 am - said pick has been trade for a stainless steel spoon by Ms. Ryu.

Any takers?

A Memory I'll Cherish... pwning.

Every couple of years, something magical happens: snow begins to accumulate on the ground, campus begins to glow, and people begin to come out from behind their books and library stacks to meet in a winter wonderland. It happened twice my Freshmen year and it happened again tonight.

I'm just beginning to thaw from an all-out no-mercy snowball fight on the green. Anytime you have a bunch of great friends and several inches of perfect snow it's a guaranteed good time. It's moments like this that I'll look back and smile about. This is the reason I love college.

My advice to the young'uns: Study, study hard. So that when circumstances like this come around you can drop your books, run out, and make a memory (also pwn some people in the process).
